I have upgraded to 6.2.7 from 6.1.5. The Registration system now requires a link to be clicked in lue of entering a code [improvement]. However the link in my emails does not activate [verify] the a new user's account.

I have to then manually active a new user's account [might as well make them Public and let every spammer in town in] . User files in the usual Registration fields First, Last Name, Username, Email. passwords etc. Now when I go and manually authorise I  add User to the Registered Role then click Authorize. This does not Authorize them and I have found that I need to add dummy data into some other required profile fields eg. City Region and post Code before clicking the Authorize button.

Now  this action removes them from the Unverified role and add them to the Registered Role and to Subscribers Role.

I'm wondering if I add these required fields to the Registration Form  will it solve my problem of the Verification Link not working?

Any ideas please on why this doesn't work?

Odd, I haven't experienced that, but you might check the User Account Settings (in DNN 6 I belive it is in the actions menu on the User Accounts page) and setup the option that requires that users to fill out a valid profile at REGISTRATION instead of at Login, which is the default option.

Thanks Chris. I'm already at 6.2.7 and there's no going back. Decided to Run as Public for the time being with valid profile at Registration set on. Even if I don't go back to Verified I'd still like to find the solution to this and one other issue before moving to 7.

The site was running Active Social. Not sure or not if the Migration from AS has any bearing on such things.
