I've noticed quite a few posts on the same error that I am getting:

'WebForm_PostBackOptions' Is undefined

when trying to create a new child portal as host, add a new page as admin, etc.

The strange thing is that I have the same version of dnn running locally and don't have any problem. The version of Dnn I have running remotely is the one causing problems.

Specifically, I am running dnn 4.03 with MS Sql 2005 on iis 5.X on discountasp.

If you login as host or admin, if you go through the process of creating a new page or portal, once you hit the Create Portal or Update button you get a JS error WebForm_PostBackOptions' Is undefined in IE (in Firefox, nothing happens).

I've spent the last three days looking for a solution and for the sake of anyone on the same search here is a synopsis.

-There is no current solution that I could find.

-The issue was listed on the DNN Project Site in Feb. as a "showstopper problem" but there has been no activity on this bug.

-Some posts try to change host cache settings but that solution did not work.

-some posts suggest installing Inventua-HrefExchanger.3.1.1 in the bin directory and then editing the web.config file. I did not try this solution and it labelled as a workaround not a fix. Also the edits to web.config are a pain.

I hope this saves some time for someone. As for me, I would like to use DNN, but this bug, if left unresolved would lead me to look elsewhere.

Dan
