Hi,

Running DNN7. Is it possible to allow non  admin users to add/edit users and roles?

I have a requirement where I don't want an end user to have full admin rights to a site but they must be able to add/edit users and roles. They must not be allowed to add pages, modules and other settings.

Add a new role eg. role admin and user admin, add the users you want to have into this new roles to have edit permissions.  Open the featurer pages over the Page Management and edit the page Settings or module Settings on this site and give the new roles edit permissions.

Thank you Mattias,

I didn't know it would be that easy! I just thought that these pages would be off limits. :-)

Thank you.

Is this only true with versions after DNN5? The reason that I ask is that I have tried the same in DNN 5. I created a new role and a new user. I assigned the new role to the new user. I placed the "Users and Roles" module onto a page and gave the new role edit permissions to the page and to the module. The new user can add/remove non-administrator accounts; however, the new user is not able to add a new role. I need the the new user to be able to add/delete/edit a new user and manage the security role for that user.

I suggest using User Management module from DNN Connect (listed in the "Forge" on this site).

Cheers from Germany,
