Hi,

I have just created 2 portals on my dnn installation. Each portal has a user called Mike who is a completely different user.

I have noticed that only 1 user is created. This is obviously to enable a user to be shared across portals.

Is there any way to turn this feature off?

I need to be able to have 2 users called Mike. 1 for each portal.

 Regards

within a single DNN installation, a username can only be used once for a single or multiple sites.

That is incredibly bad news for me!

I need a single install but with completely separate portals.

Now I have to go down the route of a separate DNN installation per site. The maintenance and installation per customer is going to be a major problem so much so in fact that I will have to stop using DNN and find an alternative or write my own.

I can understand the need for single sign in for multiple portals but surely there should be an option to turn this off.

Such a bad design choice and so many waste weeks of development for me.

DNN is using ASPNET Membership Provider, which doesn't support multiple users with same user name in a single application

Hi Sebastian,

I understand but it doesn't help me. The project is now on hold while we work about whether not allowing users from different sites  to have the same user name is a show stopping issue or not.
