Hello All

A former client contacted me and asked if I could restart his 5.1 site which had been inactive for almost 3 years.  I wasn't optimistic but it started right up. Decided to bring update it. Went a late 5.X and everything was good. 6.1 all good. 6.2 good. Site broke when I went to 7.1. Did a rollback and a strange thing happened. When I login as host or admin the login popup becomes the page. I can expand it and all administration and host functions work.

Even more strangely the same thing happens on one of its portals but not the other.

Thought it might be a skin issue but still happens with Dark Knight Skin

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Peter

Peter,
please be aware that DNN 7 has new requirements: Windows Server 2008 / Vista or above with .Net Framework 4.0, SQL Server 2008 or above.
When upgrading to 7.x, you need to switch IIS Application pool to use ASP.Net 4

Cheers from Germany,

Sebastian

Thank you. That didn't solve the login problem but is likely why the update failed. I'll try again later today

I found a work around for my problem. Admin>Site Settings>Appearance>Preview Skin and Container . When it opens the new window close the original.

Thank you again for all the time you spend answering the questions we mere mortals ask everyday

Peter

Turn off popups as a quick work around - there are any number of combinations of issues that can cause issues with popups.  In this case - try resetting / clearing the page cache on your browser.

Thank you Wes

I had tried both of the ideas.
