Hi, we have finally purchased and installed Evoq Pro as the default website onto a DMZ server.
There is no domain name set as yet, as we need to develop a replacement site before switching domains from our current public site,  so I am remoting onto the server to work.
We also have a number of community sites that we will migrate to our instance as portals. So to start the process I created a new site in host site management and when I switched from the main site to the new portal to work on it I recieved a 404 error.
I guess it is to do with the site alias but can anybody offer any further advice on how best we should manage this.
How would a portal url look in this scenario i.e
http//portalname or http:// localhost/portalname

Ok an update on this. I watched a dnnhero video and followed instructions to create an application in IIS. I tried both aliasname and localhost/aliasname but neither worked and the error is now

What was the Portal alias you added on creating the new Portal?  This alias have also to be added to the URL mapping on the site instance of your IIS!

 Hi Mathias.
When I created a new site I created the alias as bramptoncc. I also used this name as the alias when creating the application in IIS.

Is there anything else we need to do.
