There are a few things that were working during a couple days of heavy use while setting up a new site. But now they have stopped working.

1. The Update button on the Site Settings page does nothing - so my adjustments are not saved anymore.

2. In Page Management, clicking on a page name does not load the page settings alongside or below. The url changes slightly for the Page Management page I'm on but nothing happens even if I manually refresh.

3. Dragging pages to a new location in the Page Management page does nothing. They do not move.

This all started while on DNN 7.1.0 and I upgraded to DNN 7.1.2 with no improvement in symptoms. I have tried

recycling the app pool, clearing cookies and browser cache, switching between .net 4 and .net 4 integrated, hosted jquery, stopping the automatic search indexing, assuring the language was English, IE10, the latest Chrome and Firefox too.

During my editing, I removed a number of old skins by deleting their folders manually. I have re-installed most of the skins with no help.

Does anyone have an idea what to try next to get these features working again?

Without actually seeing your site its hard to know exactly what is going on - but based on what you are saying - it appears likely that what you are seeing is a side effect of a corrupted skin.  Many of the admin features you are discussing happen on the browser side using javascript - if your skin or an element of your site is corrupting the html while the page is attempting to load then it is possible that some part of the javascript libraries and tools that are needed on you browser are not functioning.

I would start by viewing your site using Firefox or Chrome - and after inspecting an element of the page use the debug / console to see what sort of javascript errors are being triggered on the page - I would expect to see at least one or possibly a few javascript errors displayed - from there - you need to try and work out what is causing the errors.

Westa, Thanks so much for your help! I did investigate for javascript errors and found one from a form module that had been used to create a simple contact form. It had been copied to all pages. I removed it from the site settings and other admin pages and their functionality was restored. Now that I know this module was the problem I will look into it further and resolve the issue or remove it from all pages. Thanks again for your advice. - Mark

Good to hear you have some forward movement - one of the common issues is modules that try to inject an older version of jQuery instead of using the dnn api based methods, This has been known to cause all sorts of issues ...
