Hi everybody,

  This may come off as a stupid question but I figured I would ask just in case it is possible. Here is the background: I took over a site for my home owners association, as the programer. At first I only knew html but I have learned a lot and am semi-perficiant in all scripts now (but not spelling). The person that is hosting the site wants it off of his server. He said he would move it over to a new server if we got one.   The association paid for Godaddy (not the preferred one I know but that is what they wanted) to host the site and also bought a new domain name. I have e-mailed the person that is currently hosting the site several times advising him that we are all ready for the move but he has not gotten back to me.

 So here is the two part question:

1. With having no access to the server that the site is currently on, is there anyway that I can move the site my self without access to a fresh install of the dnn software or access to the server? I do have a super user account though. I assume the answer is no.

2. when and if we get the site moved over, is it going to cause a conflict that we have a new domain? Do I just add it as a portal alias, a permanent redirect or how would I go about doing it?

Any help or comments no matter how small or large would be greatly appreciated.

you need access for downloading all files on the server (by FTP, WebDAV or RDP) and a download option for the database, otherwise you are unable to move the site.

BTW: your hosting provider should be able to route existing domain name to a different server as well, i.e. you don't need a new domain name for the site.

Fist let me say thank you to all of you that have replied.
@ ron dyar I have already tried copping the page source info and pasting them so that was a waste of time like you said. it broguth over most of the stuff but not enough to make it worth wile.
@ Sebastian Leupold the home owners association figured that while moving the site they wanted to rename the domain so they paid for that at the same time... Just makes more work for me. the positive end is that both domains (current one and new one) are both hosted on Godaddy.
@Mike Ryckman I do have a super user account! That is a crazy but great idea! I will wait a cupple of weeks before trying it. The reason that we are being kicked off the current server is that supposedly the SQL inquires that I have written are causing the server to crash, but I have not been able to find any proof of that. So I am looking for a last ditch effort if the current host fails to come through. I haven't done any updating to the site since we were given the ultimatum to move the site or have it deleted. But if it comes down to it I will try your way if all else fails.
