Hi

is there any way to do some global.asax  actions for my dnn ? for example, i want to create a simple user_counter module which increase when a user see any page of my dnn site. in asp.net, we can add global.asax and catch some events in application level. but i don't know how to catch some application level events in dnn.

 can anybody help me?

thanks in advance

to do this you need to create a custom httpmodule (e.g. http://www.dnnsoftware.com/community-... or http://www.codeproject.com/Articles/2... ) , usually via BeginRequest (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/30798...)

Hi ,
An other option Is to add à page load to your skin.

You CAN find examples un google.

Another option is to use a dnn skinobject.  Create a skinobject to handle your counter - and place it on your skin.
This way you could have pages that do count and pages that dont by setting up multiple skins - maybe an admin skin that does not have the skinobject, and the rest of the pages that do.

The other advantage of a skin object is that they are loaded after the dnn context
 - so all your dnn portal details are available easily.
