Hello,

I like the new search results module (I'm on 7.2.1). But, I had a few questions:

  1. Can I get rid of the "module" level details in the results? I think that's pretty confusing for users and it regularly shows things you wouldn't really want. For example, it shows the javascript code from modules where we have script in them.
  2. Can I turn off "Advanced" search stuff (the tips, the option, etc.)? I don't want people to be able to search our site by the date of the last update, for example.
  3. Can I customize the results template? For the "page" level things, it would be nice to include a description (if available).

Thanks,

Mike

Thanks, Warren.

Wow, though, I'd have hoped that for a new feature like that, that the team would have built in a few more options. Before 7.2, I just used a razor script that took care of displaying the results and I just skipped DNN's search results module entirely. In 7.2, that script isn't working... but maybe I'll figure out how to get it back and just go back to that. I've never understood DNN search's "module-level" results. No other site I know does that... it would be nice if it could be changed to "url-level" such that, as long as results share a URL, they'd be grouped together. This way, blogs and things would work well... but so would normal content.

Mike
