Hello-

I am having a problem with one of my domains that is giving me SQL Errors. I am a front end developer and our serve support people are being of no help. They told me this was a DNN problem rather than a server side problem, which seemed odd to me. Can anyone tell me in simple language how I might go about resolving the following issue?

SQL Exception

That would definitely be a database server related rather than DNN platform issue.

Here's some info on the 9001 error code: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/libra...

It appears to be related to a failure of the SQL server transaction log file - temporarily off line, excessively large, locked by another process etc. I would check the size of the log file first as I've seen these grow to many hundreds of MB particularly if the database is not backed up regularly. Also, its always good to keep an eye on the size of the DNN EventLog database table by checking the number of entries/pages in the DNN Event Viewer and after reviewing any logged errors, truncate it regularly. This also may have been a short term problem that resolved itself after the database server was restarted by the hosting provider.
