I would like to get the user ID on an ascx control without referring to the code behind. 

Is it possible?

I'm looking for something like: <asp:Label ID="lblUserID" runat="server" Text=<%#Me.UserID%>></asp:Label>

Try UserInfo.UserId --- you may need to pass the full namespace.
