We are making a new intranet and using DNN. There will be no other sites on this server just the Intranet. I'm just wondering if I should put up a web panel and if so what type. I'm looking for open source solutions only.

Should i put up a web panel?

I'm looking at WebsitePanel and ZPanel. What type do you recommend?

 Thank you.

do you need remote access for file Management, email configuration and site space for your Website? otherwise, there is no real need for a Hosting Panel - just make sure, frequent backups are performed regularly.

I'm trying to get more control over the security of the server to give my web admins a cpanel.

I see no reason for a cpanel for DNN specificially. Not sure what server security you're interested in but it sounds like it may be outside of DNN and more server related.

if you just grant access for your admins to the control panel, you will gain security, but they might be limited in their capabilities.
If they just need file access and Host Permissions for individual DNN installs, including backup and restore, this might be an option.
