I have been working to migrate a DNN 7.2.2 site from Azure to a shared hosting running SQL 2008. A colleague has tested the backup and restore files on an independent SQL 2008 server, created .bak files, etc., and a test of the restore runs fine. But for some reason -- after considerable work among several parties looking at this -- we are unable to figure out why the real time migrated site returns a DNN loading error, specifically: "Default.aspx?error=An%20unexpected%20error%20has%20occurred&content=0"

The DNN event log reads as follows:

"<LogProperties><LogProperty><PropertyName>AssemblyVersion</PropertyName><PropertyValue>7.2.2</PropertyValue></LogProperty><LogProperty><PropertyName>PortalID</PropertyName><PropertyValue>-1</PropertyValue></LogProperty><LogProperty><PropertyName>PortalName</PropertyName><PropertyValue /></LogProperty><LogProperty><PropertyName>UserID</PropertyName><PropertyValue>-1</PropertyValue></LogProperty><LogProperty><PropertyName>UserName</PropertyName><PropertyValue /></LogProperty><LogProperty><PropertyName>ActiveTabID</PropertyName><PropertyValue>-1</PropertyValue></LogProperty><LogProperty><PropertyName>ActiveTabName</PropertyName><PropertyValue /></LogProperty><LogProperty><PropertyName>RawURL</PropertyName><PropertyValue>/Default.aspx?error=An%20unexpected%20error%20has%20occurred&content=0</PropertyValue></LogProperty><LogProperty><PropertyName>AbsoluteURL</PropertyName><PropertyValue>/Default.aspx</PropertyValue></LogProperty><LogProperty><PropertyName>AbsoluteURLReferrer</PropertyName><PropertyValue /></LogProperty><LogProperty><PropertyName>UserAgent</PropertyName><PropertyValue>Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; Trident/7.0; rv:11.0) like Gecko</PropertyValue></LogProperty><LogProperty><PropertyName>DefaultDataProvider</PropertyName><PropertyValue>DotNetNuke.Data.SqlDataProvider, DotNetNuke</PropertyValue></LogProperty><LogProperty><PropertyName>ExceptionGUID</PropertyName><PropertyValue>387ed237-9ba1-4c55-a8b9-5e03b7737d55</PropertyValue></LogProperty><LogProperty><PropertyName>InnerException</PropertyName><PropertyValue>Object reference not set to an instance of an object.</PropertyValue></LogProperty><LogProperty><PropertyName>FileName</PropertyName><PropertyValue /></LogProperty><LogProperty><PropertyName>FileLineNumber</PropertyName><PropertyValue>0</PropertyValue></LogProperty><LogProperty><PropertyName>FileColumnNumber</PropertyName><PropertyValue>0</PropertyValue></LogProperty><LogProperty><PropertyName>Method</PropertyName><PropertyValue>DotNetNuke.Framework.DefaultPage.InitializePage</PropertyValue></LogProperty><LogProperty><PropertyName>StackTrace</PropertyName><PropertyValue /></LogProperty><LogProperty><PropertyName>Message</PropertyName><PropertyValue>DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.PageLoadException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. ---> System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
at DotNetNuke.Framework.DefaultPage.InitializePage()
at DotNetNuke.Framework.DefaultPage.OnInit(EventArgs e)
at System.Web.UI.Control.InitRecursive(Control namingContainer)
at System.Web.UI.Page.ProcessRequestMain(Boolean includeStagesBeforeAsyncPoint, Boolean includeStagesAfterAsyncPoint)
--- End of inner exception stack trace ---</PropertyValue></LogProperty><LogProperty><PropertyName>Source</PropertyName><PropertyValue /></LogProperty></LogProperties>"

I am running another migrated DNN 7.2.2 site on the same shared server with no issues.

Does anybody have a clue as to what the above event log is saying may be the problem with the migrated website set up?

Thanks

unfortunately, the error doesn't contain any valuable details. Has this been preceded by another items with further details?

Cheers from Germany,
