We manage our security through two roles types (page_editor and text_editor) where one can edit the page and the other can edit text using the TEXT/HTML module etc.

The current requirement is to be able to allow the page_editors to manage the site's menus using the "Pages" option available under the "Admin" menu. Basically, the users need to be able to see the list of all pages, create new pages, change the status of the pages to hidden to show/hide on the main menus and so on...

Can someone please assist.

Regards

Ahmer

Why not use tabs.ascx and create a new control on a new page under a dedicated menu for them to administer the pages like this?

Thanks for responding.

I am not sure how the menus can be controlled using a new control. Can you please shed some more light.

Regards

Create a new user control - bascially a single tab module, which you register manually.  Embed the tabs control in the page and the insert the module into a new page with restricted access.  I'm not sure what issues you may create as far as any page they see that they should not have rights to.  You may need to copy the control and add in more selection code to restrict what the user sees based on their role.
