I'm attempting to setup my 4.3.1 install on my dev computer to run under medium trust so that I can test some possible bugs with the Repository. I have found that I occasionally get the security permission error popping up just going from page to page but I can get rid of it again by killing the aspnet worker process. However I'm not sure that I've got everything setup the way that it should be. I uncommented the medium trust line in the web.config and changed it to

<trust level="Medium" originUrl="http://localhost/dnn4/.*" />

Is that all I have to do and the site is running under Medium Trust or is there something else that needs done?

There's also a setting in IIS, but it normally defaults to medium.  Are you on IIS 5.1 or 6?

typically the easiest way is to simply use the development.config, as it's already set up for medium trust, and uses a defined objectqualifier, so should help you pick up any sql naming issues also. When you change the security context of a site, you will have to reset it, typically either unloading the application pool or doing an IISRESET.

Thanks Cathal. I just tried a fresh install using the development.config and it stalled 1/2 way through with the Security error. There's got to be something else on my system that's causing the problem as I've been able to do it before. I suspect it may be the beta of IE7 as I recall having issues with launching the browser when I was doing so module development a few months ago.

I've had some problems with IE7 during install's as if they take too long IE refreshes the page and causes script problems. I'd recommend you install with another browser, or else remove a few of the larger modules from the install/modules folder such as forums and store, to reduce install time.
