I have created a folder  " jaydeep " in the root directory of my site " bhattji.com " (running on DNN 7.3.1) and put a " default.htm " and " index.htm " files into it to redirect to my facebook page.

But, when someone tries " http://bhattji.com/jaydeep " it does not work :( returns a 404 error; however if you try the full URL " http://bhattji.com/jaydeep/default.htm " or " http://bhattji.com/jaydeep/index.htm " then it works.

How to enable the  " http://bhattji.com/jaydeep " so that it works?

Check the IIS settings for the default document.  Out of the box default.htm and index.htm should work.  The next thing I would look at is the URL rewrite rules.  It is possible that some configuration is not seeing http://bhattji.com/jaydeep as a folder request but is confusing it as a file.  Try adding a trailing / to see if that helps disambiguate things for IIS.

Hi Joe,

Thanks for the reply,

I have added it into the SiteUrls in the root, and that works. But I was wondering, why the IIS is not recognizing it as a folder? Please note his happens only with Newer version of DNN (I guess 7.x.x+). Is some rewriting rule responsible for it? Can it be mended?
