My client is looking to integrate an extranet/client area into their dnn 3.2.2 deployment to store project documents and code backups.

The docuements module will not suffice.

My client has a SAN on their network that they want to store all the documents on. The SAN is not a part of the dnn web server at all. The SAN only has an ip address and can be accessed via UNC paths.

I would like a module or method to facilitate, drag and drop of files from the client's desktop to the client extranet area which in turn will ftp the files to the remote SAN and only "list" the files in the client extranet. When a client clicks on a project file it will download the file from the SAN. I don't want all these files being store on the dnn web server as some files are massive (code backups).

Preferably this module would enumerate all the files in a particular clients' directory on the SAN to syncronize the list of available docuements. My client may elect to use an ftp client to store the docuements to the SAN.

It looks as though I am after something similar to an "ftp module"

This will be used for an engineering extranet that will hold cad drawings, proposals, RFI's... etc.

Does a module like this exist or should i have one of the many module developers create one for me.

Erik,

Thanks for the quick reply however, I already inquired (via snowcovered) about the DMX module and this is what they said:

DMX can access UNC paths and so save to this. Note the following though: DMX saves contents in its own data structure using obfuscated names. It is not designed to work as a window into existing content and, as a result, if files are changed outside the module (i.e. through direct disk access) behavior is unpredictable at best.

With the DMX module, all file transfer and modification needs to be done using the DMX module.

It doesn't look as though the DMX module can do what i need.

I did a search on google for "web based ftp". Turns out this is exactly what i need.

Has anyone packaged-into-a-module an ajax web based ftp client yet?

Mike.
