I have a DNN site which I started from the version 7.0. I have tried to enable the search to index and include the DNN Users and User Profiles, but it does not seem to be working. Can some please help me figure out where I am going wrong. It seems be a problem with DNN sites which started before 7.1 and are updated.

On my new DNN installations which were done recently the search works fine.

   1. Click "Admin - Page Management", locate "Search Results" page, right click it, select "Visit Page".
   2. Now you should see a "Search Result" module on that page, click "Edit page" from control panel, then click "Settings" action menu of this module.
Locate "Search Result Settings" tab.
   3. Check "Results Scope for Content Type(s)" to see if "users" check box is checked. If not, check on it, and update.

Thank you DnnModule.com, for your well written reply. I had done everything you said in your quick guidance, however I still not seem to get the search working for the Users and User Profiles. I am now thinking this could be a setting on the web.config file or some other setting which seems to be missed during the upgrade from 7.0 to 7.3.2. This is because when I run a new install of DNN 7.3 the search seems to work fine. Can someone please help me with this one as I still can not get the search to show users.

be aware that indexing might take a couple of hours.
If users don't show up in search index afterwards, check stored procedure GetAvailableUsersForIndex in the database (should be same as in /providers/dataproviders/sqldataprovider/07.03.02.sqldataprovider file (with placeholders replaced).

Thank you Sebastian for your response, I have checked the stored procedure GetAvailableUsersForIndex and it is the same as the one in 07.03.03.SqlDataProvider file. I can confirm that this is not the cause of the problem.

Is there any need for me to edit the Host>> Host Settings >> Search Settings entries , Custom Analyzer Type at the moment there is none specified? Please help as I need to get the User search results for my intranet.
