We are trying to move a fully functional one portal DNN environment over to windows 2012 r server from 2008. The 2012 is using sqlexpress (vs. sql standard on 2008). Having  a lot of issues with the stability, on new server getting hang ups , time outs, 500 internal service error. Using IIS 7.5 on both, all the permissions/bindings and such look fine. After researching and looking at different documentation/blogs etc, I'm wondering as working remotely as developer I can suggest next step to be with the IT team at main office to resolve (can't say if there are issues itself with windows OS and the webserver software thats on the 2012 machine). For those experts out there that can shed some pointers/light on migrating one DNN site to another newer machine would be of great help and appreciated.

Windows Server 2012 is for sure using IIS 8, which needs to run App Pool on .net 4 (ideally 4.5.2 or 4.5.3) in integrated mode with a single worker process.
