Webfarms and DNN are fraught with problems - I would first ask yourself - why do you need one?

One of the main issues with DNN is that the cache provider that ships with the "free" edition of dnn is not optimal for webfarm environments as it requires a shared filestore to hold the caching datafiles - this can add a performance hit that sometimes outweighs the benifits of a webfarm in the first place.

If your site is generating that much traffic that it merits a webfarm then looking at the commercial evoq solution may be something you should consider.

there are 3rd party caching providers as well, PowerDNN developed one and there is also a free one on Codeplex.com by Aricie.
