There is a bot of some sort attempting to log in to my site about 1-2 times every second.

No login is succeeding, the site is set to "None" for registration.  But this is throwing View Profile and another module exception, along with a login failure exception, to the tune of another 100 having happened since I created this thread. :)

Is there anything short of disabling notifications in the event log for Module Load Exceptions and Login Failure?  Probably a silly question ... one would have to get into the core otherwise to detect suspect logins and block them right there.

Silly or not ... is there a way around this?

 Thanks!

In Admin > Event Viewer, you may enter event configuration (edit log types) and disable these events.

Have done that.

For anyone who ran into issues and wants to save recent log entries for data, here is what I had to do.

Via DNN 4 Less web admin, I found nearly 2.5 million log entries, most of which were these.  When the turkey found out he could not hack the site, decided to slow it down with a spam logon attack.  The same web admin only allows deleting 50K of the entries at a time.  Go figure ... One cannot delete by a date range, log event ID range that amounts to anything more than 50K.

To stop the log entries I had to set the flag in the Event Config table to False for all entries. (could not get to the UI to see which ones!)

That accomplished I finally figured out the Web Admin would only let me delete 50K of 2.5 million entries at a time.  Great way to spend a morning, having to do 50 iterations for what should only be one!

I'm sure any query knowledgeable person can figure this out but for anyone else using DNN 4 Less or similar, that 50K limit is a good thing to know.
