I tried to post this yesterday but it seems to have disappeared, so apologies if this is a duplicate.

DNN 7.4

We made changes to a page on our website, changing two images to new ones.

The changes save and are visible in Edit Mode, but when we close Edit Mode it still shows the old images.

Research suggested this was likely a result of caching, so I rebooted the web server to clear out any caches but the issue is still there.

Thanks in advance for any guidance.

Based on the fact that you don't seem to have a cache issue. I'd look at the HTML module, are you by chance using a workflow an the edit content is not yet published? You would see a "publish" option if that is the case.

Otherwise, have you tried a CTRL + F5 refresh on the view page for a potential local cache issue? (Not likey I know)

Hi Mitchell,

Thanks for the reply.  We're not using a workflow, and I verified in the Version History that the changes are showing as published.

I've tried Ctrl+F5, In-Private browsing, different browsers, still no luck.

Bump.  Any other suggestions here?  I'm really at a loss.

So, it turns out that if I set the Cache Duration to 0 for that particular module on the page, than the changes appear properly in View and Edit mode.
That's fine for a workaround, however, this would suggest that there's a deeper issue with caching functionality.

The default Cache setting is 1200 seconds, these changes were made at least 2 weeks ago, and a full Server restart occurred without the cache ever updating.
Am I misunderstanding how the caching operates? Because it seems to me there's no reason why that cache would persist given that much time and a server restart.

Is there something I can check to verify caching is ever updating on its own?
