go to user accounts > edit user > UnAuthorize User (button)

I need to run an API call that does the same as this button

Have you downloaded the Core API Help File and looked for the methods for user management?

there isn't a particular method for that as it's a single property, just get a userinfo record and then set the approved status and update i.e.

User.Membership.Approved = false;

//Update User

UserController.UpdateUser(PortalId, User);
