I have a 7.3.3 site that has started logging quite a few General / Scheduler exceptions that appear to be related to the search function. In fact, before we noticed the issue there were over 35,000 entries. Generally there are a whole bunch of the following events logged one after another:

General Exception
InnerException: Index was outside the bounds of the array

Scheduler Exception
InnerException: Index was outside the bounds of the array

Scheduler Event Failure
DotNetNuke.Services.Search.SearchEngineSchedule

Any idea as to what might be going on?

It looks like I might have fixed it by emptying the search folder (a tip from one of your other posts ;-) although some of the file were locked. The files I could remove seems to have been causing a problem.
