Hi all,

Does anyone know of a way to detect and remove orphaned files? We have a number of docs that get updated every year by a variety of users. Thus, there are a ton of old files that are just sitting on the server, taking up space.

Just to make things more complicated, I work for a college and every department has its own portal. So, some departments (like Financial Aid and Student Billing) may be linking to docs on each others portals. So, removing docs on one site could break a link on another site.

 Any ideas?

Thanks,

-s

unless you are always using modules like documents or repository, there is no option to determine, whether a file is linked, because linkes might be buried inside a rich text column in any table.
