I have a DNN installation that doesn't want to assign some of the standard security roles to pages or modules.

The roles are: Subscribers and Unauthenticated Users.

If I go to a page or module and the Permissions section, these roles have not been assigned.  The roles exist, and if I attempt to add them, they are not added, and no error is generated.  I can add Unverified Users to a page.

Any ideas where I should look for this?

check the roles table, I provide a fix script for roles and one for permissions on dnnscript.codeplex.com, which might help to adjust data-

Hi Sebastian, are you around?

I've got the exact same issue on my DNN 804 instance as Joseph has in this thread.

I've found and read many posts that refer to your script that inserts a dummy portal zero, but I find I am unable to run the script due to "The INSERT statement conflicted with the FOREIGN KEY constraint "FK_Portals_Roles". and it does that for each of the inserts. I'm wondering how i can run it and create the dummy portal. There's definitely a zero portal missing in my db. I'm hoping you might be able to tell me how to make it happen.

I'm also unable to use the proper reply editor in the forum here as it seems to be broken. So I'm using the quick-reply and hopefully it will work.

Regards
Rob

Hi Rob,

sorry, I just noticed your post. I was of the impression, that Portal 0 is no longer needed in DNN 8.0.4 - but I might be wrong.

I just checked a local install and could't find a foreign key "FK_Portals_Roles", only "FK_RolesPortals". Which columns does it link?
