I want to update my website to the latest version of DNN.

I have too many modules that are no longer being used.

What is the best practice?

Should I delete all non used modules?

or

should I just leave them alone and ignore them?

Thank you for your recommendation.

Start Uninstalling all modules and providers you are not using anymore (in Host > Extensions).
Check /bin and /bin/providers folders for orphaned .dll files and /desktopmodules folder for orphaned subfolders.
Be careful not to uninstall DNN core modules (some show up as not installed in the list).
Uninstalling extensions will speed up website initial load and reduce memory - and risk of vulnerabilities.

Thank you, it is amazing how things add up after a few years.

I have a few more hours to go.

Thank you again.

you are welcome. I suggest moving the files to a folder outside your website folder, in case you notice later it is still needed.
