Hi we have a strange problem with permissions on our AWS community site. running 07.04.02 (216)

We have a number of portals with administrators, they can edit pages and use page settings and add modules etc , however when they try and access any admin pages they are denied access. I have looked at all the user account settings and all seems ok except there is no delete option to remove the administrator role from a user,  in fact there is no option for the host to remove the adminstrator person either?.

We can add and remove any new administrators ok although still have an access problem

So we created a new test security role (with the default gobal settings) and assigned this role to an administrator , and now they they can access the admin pages but do not have the option to add or edit new users etc.

If they hit the admin button they can only see site settings and user accounts

Can anyone suggest anthing to try

please check portals table, whether administratorsRole and RegisteredUsersRole contain the correct roleIDs.

Where do I look to cross check the AdministratorRoleId], [RegisteredRoleId to make sure they are correct?

Sorry , I assume they are refering to the ID for administrator and Registerd users in Roles table, if yes then they are correct.

An Update.

Everything looked ok in portals table,  but the original and the new adminstrator I added still had no buttons to add new or edit/delete a user.

I found a  similar thread http://www.dnnsoftware.com/forums/threadid/488559/scope/posts/threadpage/3   (where Sebastian you made some comments in) where the suggestion was updating the user account module istelf, so I did this and now both administrators have the buttons to add and edit/delete users although the original adminstrator still cannot be deleted or his administrator role removed (even by the host),  I cannot delete this user as host either? (is there a safe sql script availble to do this or can someone specify what tables/ steps must be taken to do so)

Admin Pages not showing
As the whole issue looks like permissions not set correctly,  I opened some of the denied admin pages and checked all user permission to view and saved,   then reset them back and now these page are available and ok.

I have 14 portals so I am hoping someone might have an sql solution to do them all at once?

where are These users listed - in user list of site or host menu?
Unfortunately, some host users do have corresponding items in UserPortals table some don't.
With your help. I might créate and provide a new script on codeplex
