Hello,

I am running DNN 7.4.2

I developed a module that leverages on the DNN Users Management methods. In an attempt to reset user passwords, I programmatically change a User's Password to a default value and set that the User must change his/ her password on next logon by setting Membership.UpdatePassword = True and then Usercontroller.UpdateUser. 

When the User attempts to login with the default password, the Portal as expected compels the user to change Password. The problem however is that on supplying username and new password, the Portal keep saying "Password reset link has expired and no longer valid" and as such user will not be able to go beyond this point. I have increased the "reset link timeout" to maximum allowable value under membership Management of Advanced Settings in Host Settings. I must also mention that I did not send out any email when the Password was changed. 

Can someone please help with possible bypass or solution? I want users to be able to just change their password and move on.

Do you notice same behavior, when changing password in Admin > User Management?

Same problem here in DNN 742... we like to force password change on next login and send the mail with the reset password link.
We noticed that in DNN 742 the reset password mail is no longer implemented. It shows a change password screen with: username, news password, confirm new password.
How can we enable the reset password mail again? is this a setting?

We need to change password in backoffice as well and there's no option in DNN 742 anymore, please help?
