I have a few websites with users and was wondering about the hashing algorithm.

By default, DNN uses SHA1 for hashing. This algorithm is pretty outdated, and I'd like to use a stronger algorithm, like SHA256. How do you change the hashing algorithm in DNN, and will users still be able to log in after changing it or will they all have to change their password first?

AFAIK the hashing is part of MS Membership provider. Unfirtunately, DNN is not using latest version, which might affect the hashing algorithm being used as well.
