the error you get means just that: access is denied. This means that the process that is used to run dnn with ( or rather, the asp.net user) has no write rights on that folder. How did you install DNN? It not possible to install dnn withough the proper write rights. Please check the installation documentation ;)

Solution: give the user that that is used to run the asp.net worker process (network services on win2k3 server) modify rights on the root folder of your dnn install

cheers,

Erik

Just wanted to say that I got it working.

Thanks Erik, I only made a little mistake by working directly in the root where DNN got installed, not inside the <DNN install dir>\Portals directory.

As for the userrights, I am having my site hosted externally and not on a dedicated server (poor me), so I can't edit these things, but your reply started me thinking and made me do the trick.
Even when I was under the impression that folder permissions were inherited for every underlying folder, setting up the Portal folder with new permissions did the trick.

Anyway, this is the second time that you helped me, yesterday on your own site and now here, so I want to thank you alot.
