Hello,

We are trying to upgrade the site from 7.4.0 to 7.4.2. When we replace the current site files with DNN 7.4.2 upgrade files and run site/Install/Install.aspx?mode=upgrade, it is showing blank page. Also, the site is throwing errors. Have anyone faced same issue?. Any help is appreciated.

please check version number in Host > Extensions, the database might already been upgraded.
Another subject: did you unblock downloaded package (in file properties), prior to unzipping the files contained?

Cheers from Germany,
Sebastian Leupold

Hello,

The host > extensions gives the error "A critical error has occurred. Please check the Event Viewer for further details.". On checking the logs in event viewer, could see the following.

Let us know how we could fix the issue with host > Extensions.

did you by chance apply my turbo scripts?
A similar issue has been reported by user of my scripts after upgrade to DNN 8 when opening Host > Extensions, and it was caused by inconsistent default skin records.

I'm seeing the following error at Host > Extensions

---
2016-08-08 06:01:57,945 [server][Thread:13][ERROR] DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.Exceptions - FriendlyMessage="Error: Active Forum is currently unavailable." ctrl="ASP.desktopmodules_activeforums_classic_ascx" exc="System.Web.HttpException (0x80004005): Session state can only be used when enableSessionState is set to true, either in a configuration file or in the Page directive. Please also make sure that System.Web.SessionStateModule or a custom session state module is included in the \\ section in the application configuration.
at System.Web.UI.Page.get_Session()
at DotNetNuke.Modules.ActiveForums.ForumBase.get_UserLastAccess()
at DotNetNuke.Modules.ActiveForums.Classic. (EventArgs e)"
---

What might be the reason for it? The site just loads fine.

Further, I see a mistatch in the DNN version in the file (7.4.0) and in the database (7.4.2). Is it possible to fix this up in anyway other than restoring the site from backup?
