Hi,

I changed the minRequiredPasswordLength from default value to something like 15 for a Test portal with several users already defined. Then I tried to login with the host password which is really simple and nowhere near 15 characters and to my surprise this still worked. Should it really?

did you remember to clear the cache and restart the application since these setting are held in the web.config which is only loaded upon restart.

Shouldnt't an edit of web.config trigger an automatic restart of the application?

When you login with the credentials of a user that is registered before you set minRequiredPasswordLength that user still has a simple password and logging in with that password is still possible. If you try to change the password of that user you will be forced to create a longer password. This is behavior by design. Did you turn on password strength meter?
