Hi,

We've recently upgraded a site to DNN8 and we've tested by exceeding the maxInvalidPasswordAttempts number set in web.config but the user does not get locked out as expected.

Are we missing a step somewhere to get this working?

Thanks.

Samuel,

I could not reproduce this, but I did not upgrade (and used a "fresh" installation). What is the Password Attempt Window? (see Admin :: Site Settings :: User Account Settings)

Happy DNNing!

Hi Michael,

Thanks for your response.  The Password Attempt Window is currently set to 10.  The same as the Max Invalid Password Attempts.

Is it possible that since this is an upgrade, something in our custom skin might be interfering with it?

Cheers, Sam

Samuel,

I can't imagine that the skin is the problem. Sorry, I have no idea at the moment.

Happy DNNing!
