Ok, I have a clean installation of DNN 9.  As we use Plesk server administration software on our server, I have to first install a clean copy of DNN 7.0, the follow an upgrade path to install DNN 9.0.0.

Everything appears to be working as it should, however I'm having problems finding any of the original Host settings in the Persona bar.   When logged in as SU, all I see are the buttons; Content - Manage - Settings - View Site - Logout.  As a Host user, what SHOULD I be seeing in the persona bar?

I.e. I can't see anywhere to add or manage users.  There are no buttons listed under any of the buttons listed in my persona bar that seem to provide access to create or manage users.  Nor can I see anywhere to manage host settings?

I'm not sure if my install is buggy or if I'm simply looking in the wrong place.  Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

R.

Please also note: Under: Settings - Extensions - Available Extensions, I've found an extension named 'Dnn.PersonaBar.Users Version 1.0.0.  I have attempted to install this a couple of times, however it hangs on page 4 of the installation and fails to go any further.  I suspect this extension needs to be added to my persona bar to be able to add a new SU account.

So there are a couple of logs you should check:

  1. Event log (manage >> Admin Logs) - Look for any errors around the time you are attempting installation.
  2. Log4net Installer logs ( /portals/_default/logs/InstallerLogYYYYMMDD.resources) - Look for errors related to the dnn.personabar.users installation.  You should see something like this at the beginning of the extension installation: DotNetNuke.Services.Upgrade.Internals.Steps.BaseInstallationStep Installing PersonaBar - Dnn.PersonaBar.Users_01.00.00_Install.zip
  3. Log4net logs (/portals/_default/logs/YYYY.MM.DD.log.resources - look for errors at the time of your failure.

Thanks for getting back to me.

Where should I  be checking these please Sebastian?  The installation process appeared to run smoothly, with no errors reported in the original event logs during installation.  Is there somewhere else I should be checking?

I've had a look at the admin logs, but doesn't appear to be anything there?

Thanks
