Hi,

Today is very important for the sites to have SSL, and in a near future it will be critical: https://www.searchenginejournal.com/google-sets-https-deadline/236225/

I've several multi-portal DNN instalation where each site has your own domain. I tried to install SSL in all sites of one instalation, my server provider said it is instaled to the domain of the main site, and the other sub portals could used. But the browser shows many warnings in the sub-portals because are using a SSL sign to other domain.

So now i've only have SSL in the portal 0, so i don't get securiy warnings in all other portals. How can this be solved? Someone had the same issue?

Thank you. Best Regards

I believe you will need to get a SAN or wildcard cert. I also work with a multi portal installation and you can achieve this using Let's Encrypt but you do have to have administrative access to the server. Here is a good article on this for DNN that you can follow up with. https://justinacton.com/2016/08/12/fr...

If you don't have full access to your box to do this you may have to purchase a SAN or wildcard cert. Someone should correct me if I'm wrong.

We have just gone down this route. You need a multidomain SSL certificate covering  the domains used in your portals. But check your server as they only really work on 2012 and upwards.

I have a five domain certificate with one install with different portals and have no problems with the SSL certificates on any of the portals.

I use Let's encrypt with the windows Certify The Web tool and it gets a certificate for each domain using SNI, it even configures it automatically in IIS and creates scheduled tasks to renew them automatically. I have just posted a blog post about it here http://www.dnnsoftware.com/community-...
