Hello,

I'm getting ready to put my new DNN site into production but having some performance issues I cannot quite get around.  For example, we purchased Telerik R.A.D. Suite and have integrated a good amount of those components into our application.  We replaced the text editor with the R.A.D. Editor and the issue I fid with it is that it seems to want to reload the images every time.

That and some of my post backs just seem to drag.  It's on a pretty decent server, dedicated Application pool, etc.  High level caching on and I've implemented my own caching as well within my modules.  Which has increased some performance, I just can't seem to get it to what I want.  I know DNN can, I look at this site and see so.

Anyone willing to give me a performance review and offer some suggestions?  I'll give 50 bux for an hour or two of your time to get this thing screaming.

Has anyone used SQL2005 for the database and noticed performance increases?  we were going to push over to that for the SqlCacheDependency being at Row Level and not Table level.  Just wondering if anyone else had any luck with that.

All the help would be appreciated, and like I said, I'm willing to pay for that too.  I'm just looking to gain some performance wherever I can.

If interested, email me at taylor dot--0 cj aaatt gmail.com.  IM - yahoo- cege7480, AIM - mdsklz1

Thanks,
Chris

Under host settings in the newest versions (3.3/4.3) their is a new setting for HTTPCachablity that will help you get what you are looking for.

I have outlined a way to do this at the page level if you want more control :

I haven't upgraded to 4.3.3. yet, but I have done the setCachbility (i actually followed you blog entry earlier).  Still running doggish.  Anything I'm missing?

John,

So i checked the setting in my host settings to have heavy caching as well as set public authenticated caching.  Still reloads all images.

What else am I missing here?  anyone?

The label control is one place that I have found to have some redundant and recursive looping for translating language that could probably help.

If you don't mind re-compiling the code you can comment out that part without any ill effect that I have found.

Commenting out GetLocalizedText of the DNNLabel control speeds up the page with the host settings on it by about 10%-15% in my testing.
