I've read about securing the connection string with AP.NET 2.0, but I'd like to know if I have any options for 1.1.  My site is on a Windows Server 2003 machine using the .NET Framework 1.1, DNN 3.1.1, and SQLServer 2000.  I need an alternative to storing the connection string in clear text.  Can this be done?

No, this is not possible in DNN 3.  More of a limitation of .Net 1.1 than a limitation of DNN 3.
