Hi

Is it possible to create multiple portals with one DNN installation and have each portal accessed via their own domain name?  I'm particularly interested to know if this can be done using a GoDaddy Deluxe shared hosting account or with any shared hosting account for that matter.

For example, I want:

Portal 1 - accessed by www.domain1.com

Portal 2 - accessed by www.domain2.com

etc., etc.

If the above can be done, could someone put me in the right direction to accomplish the above?  Any assistance provided would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

yes, this is the intention of multiportal architecture. you simply need to direct all domains to your portal root and associate each domain as portal alias with the desired portal.

Thanks for your quick response leupold.  One more question...which is the portal root?  Is it the "1" or "2" folder that gets created when the portal is create or is it the root of the DNN installation?

all domains need to point to the root folder of your web, where the default.aspx resides.

Does it mean that all portals must be placed in the same directory?

If so, then there will have only one Config.ini for all portals, does it mean that all data will be stored in a single database?

Since there may have some different settings for different portals (different domains), and we need to control the usage for different domain also, can I have a single DotNetNuke installation, and use different database for different domain?

I have also posted my quest here, would you please give me some comment?  (it seems that my problem is due to the setting in IIS that I have different direcotry for different domain)
