OK -- this seems like another no-brainer.

I am building a site -- and need to manage web users and what they can see & edit. Two basic types -- Employees and clients.  Ideally, employees can see/edit all data related to their clients, and clients can see data only about themselves.  DNN seems to restrict user access to Admin, Registered, Subscriber, all user -- not robust enough to handle my client's needs.  Is there something I am missing?

Tim

PS -- I would consider a pay module for this if it comes to that...

Tim, I am not sure I understand your question, but did you know you can make your own Roles?

If you did know that, then I think what you are asking for is beyond the ability of the core. The Smart-Thinker HomePage module allows each user to maintain their OWN page but is not quite what you need. I haven't seen many other modules that do fancy role manipulation to be honest...

no -- i did not know I could make my own roles.  Looking at it now, I would just create, then, a Security Role, then assign that to the approriate modules/pages and then the corresponding users, right?

From that another question arises -- the 'Role Group'  function.  Does that allow me to create a Security Role which in effect is the combination of multiple roles?  That would be nice, but not mandatory...

Thanks

Tim

Role Groups are currently  for simplifying the management of roles only, they have no effects on permissions.
