Hello

I am unable to add text to my site using text/html module.  Instead I see this message when I try to add text in the text box.

FreeTextBox has not been correctly installed. To install FreeTextBox either:
(1) add a reference to FtbWebResource.axd in web.config:
<system.web>
<httpHandlers>
<add verb="GET"
path="FtbWebResource.axd"
type="FreeTextBoxControls.AssemblyResourceHandler, FreeTextBox" />
</httpHandlers>
</system.web>

(2) Save the FreeTextBox image and javascript files to a location on your website and set up FreeTextBox as follows
<FTB:FreeTextBox id="FreeTextBox1" SupportFolder="ftbfileslocation" JavaScriptLocation="ExternalFile" ButtonImagesLocation="ExternalFile" ToolbarImagesLocation="ExternalFile" ButtonImagesLocation="ExternalFile" runat="server" />

Has anybody else experience this error?

I understand by following instructions (# 1) that I need to add the above web reference in my web.config file.

But I am not clear about instructions (# 2).

  • Where do I find the FreeTextBox image and javascript files to save to a location on my web site?
  • What is the location where they need to be save.
  • Into which file and where do I insert the above code (# 2)

Thanks.

According to bi4ce (http://dnn.bi4ce.com/Default.aspx?tabid=201) this is related to your .css files having leading spaces.

Just got the same error on our server. I will see if I can fix it by changing our .css files.

Hello espenalb

Thanks for the reply.  I have since found the cause of the problem.  I checked my web.config file and everything was as it should be.  However, when I was looking for the files containing the javascript etc. and discovered that I had several folders/files missing.

I don't know how this happened, when I installed DNN 4.3.4 I was not informed of any missing folders/files and it appeared to install correctly.

As  yet I don't know if I am missing other files, only time will tell.

I FTP's the missing folders/files and then the TEXT/HTML module worked fine.

Thanks.

Lynn

Hello stennilsson

I am sorry to say but I did not make a note of the specific files or folders.

 But this is what I did.

 I unzipped a fresh DNN 4.3.4 folder onto my pc.  I just compared the main folders, until I noticed that my online DNN version was missing some folders/files which my offline version contained.  I then just FTP'd the missing folders and it worked.

Sorry I can't be more help.

Regards

Lynn
