Hello

I am using DNN 4.3.4 and I am currently in the process of adding content to a new site for a relative.  So far I have only created a few pages and put the minimum of content in, just as a test.

I have noticed that when I click "Add New Page"  the new page is created with a ready made text/html module already included.  I thought that this may just be a feature of DNN 4.3.4 but now I believe this is an error. Because, I have only just noticed, but:

The Container Dropdown Action and Button are visible to the general public.

See what I mean: www.drivewaydesign.eu.

This has occured on each of the new pages except the home page, I have checked the page settings just in case I accidentally ticked the wrong box, the page cannot be edited by all.  I have enabled View Page All User but NOT Edit Page All Users

On one of the new pages, I deleted the pre installed text/html module and inserted my own, but it shows up as an error.

I don't know if this is connected but another security issue I have is:

When I first installed the site, I changed the password for the default host but failed to change the password for the admin, each time I got an error. However, now I can not log in as admin as it does not accept default password, even though I was unable to change it.  I am still searching for a solution.

Are these know issues with DNN 4.3.4 or is the error mine?

I would appreciate any help or advice to solve this problem.

Thanks.

Hello

Can anybody confirm if this problem is a DNN 4.3.4 bug?  If so, what needs to be done to solve it? I don't feel that the site is as secure as it might be with this problem.

Thanks

Lynn

Lynn,

I jist checked your site and did not see any action menu. Regarding the admin password, please ensure, that it meets the password requirements specified in your web.config.

Hello Leupold

Thanks for the reply and for taking the time and checking out the site.

I have just looked at the site myself a seconds ago and although the dropdown menu does not show on the home page, it never has, as that page seems to behave ok, as I mentioned earlier. But I have created a few other pages (see side menu) and the action menu was and is still showing on them, and visible by all.

As yet I still do not have the answer to resolve this issue.

Regards the admin password, to what password requirements are you referring which are specified in the web config?

Thanks

Lynn

Lynn,

I checked out your whole web site without being logged in and now I identified the combo box - cannot remember having seen anyone using it. Which control do you use, i.e. which tag did you add in your container?

Default password requirement for DNN 3.3.x/4.3.x is 7 characters, 0 non-letter.
