Hello,

I want to redirect the user to a "success" page that they will only see if they have just signed up - is this possible? I want to put the Google Adwords conversion tracking code on it to see how many of my Google keywords convert into user sign ups. I also want to add a nice little "what to do next" message and the Smart-Thinker Tell a Friend module.

I checked the site settings but there are only Splash, Home, Login and user pages. I'm sure I read somewhere that in 4.3.x you could redirect to a page after registration?

Hi Rodney!

The only page I know about is the "User" page, but I think it will always go to that page regardless of whether or not an initial registration has taken place. I've just checked the registration code and it only redirects back to the page that referred it.

The ways that I can think to do it are:-

  • Modify the registration module
  • Have some kind of intermediate page, that redirects through to the registration page, and you refer to that intermediate page when hitting the register link. After a successful registration, it will redirect back to that intermediate page, now that a registration has taken place, and displays the content you want. This only occurs when you want to register, which is what I think you want?

Hi Rodney,

After some initial difficulties (because I didn't read the docs thoroughly), I got the Dynamic Registration module from Chad at Datasprings going and I have to say it's great. You can do almost anything you would need with the reg process, including specifying a (text/html) thank message or redirecting to a specified page. You could easily include G Conversion code in there.

Hi Scott,

Hmm - I guess the only 2 places that can call the Register page are the Login control and the Register skin object. Hence this could be customised. A pity this can't be done with customising it thought - seems quite fundamental.

BTW - I just noticed yhe Private Messages avatar - is the Ventrian module going to become part of the core?
