I have extensively searched both this site as well as asp.net looking for a solution to this problem. I have found a couple solutions that have corrected the issue, one being add the <code>  < clear  /> </code> tag under the <code>  < httpModules > </code> tag, http://forums.asp.net/2/976187/ShowThread.aspx . This seems to work and was also discussed at msdn http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/9b9dh535.aspx . My question to the DNN team is specifically what is the best way to configure DNN 3.2.2 to allow virtual directories to function? Will adding the clear tag disable some functionality of DNN 3.2.2?

Well now it seems that the < clear /> tag under the the < httpmodules />  tag does not work.  There is also another recommended method of copying the dnn .dll files and adding remove tags in the web.config file of my app in the virtual directory. This adds a lot of unnecessary baggage to my sub application that I really don't want. I know on my Windows Sharepoint Services installation there is a check box that tells that webpool to allow virtual directories. What is the DotNetNuke core team's recommended method to get webapplications to function in virtual directories under the dnn 3?
