The portal works fine and I added a few modules to test drive it.  I got all the modules working I wanted and lastly added the 'manage profile' one and now this is the only one it displays.  Cannot get rid of it as it does not have the dropdown arrow.  When logged out it displays all my previously selected modules but when any user account is logged in it only shows the 'manage profiles'  - how do I fix it?

go to tabmodules table in database and delete the unwanted entry.

This method does not work. I've deleted the row in tabmodules table where module id=369 (the User Account module), and the manage profile module is still there.

Do you have another method?

Thanks.

I had the same problem yesterday.  this page was my home page.  all i did was create a dummy page and change that to the home page and then was able to view the other modules on my previous home page.  then i cut and pasted the content onto the new page.
