On our non-profit DNN (4.3.5) site, I've setup the Subscriber role to be used for our paid members (the organization has dues).

Currently, if a new person wants to join, it's a fairly complicated process.  They must register on the site, get verified (automated email), log-in, and then they have to go into their profile, click on "manage services", then subscribe.

What I want is an easy "join here" link that for the user to become a subscriber.  I thought I could make a link directly to that page, but it seems the link contains a user id.  Anyone have an idea?

Do the subscribe and unsubscribe functions work?   When I click the link, it take me back to the home page.  No errors in the log.  Our Paypal info is setup in host settings.

Also, we'd like to be able to view a listing of all the registered users who are not subscribers.  Is there an easy way to do this that doesn't require buying a 3rd party module?

Thanks!

there is a module, dnnportal.subscribers at www.dnnportal.de, but it has not been tested on DNN 4.3.5

if you select auto for the subscribers role, users get automatically assigned to the role when signing up

you can get all users in a role using the role manager (admin >>security roles)

Thanks Sebastian.

I actually looked at that module, but the description is not in english...  I guess I could try and install it anyway and see what happens.

The subscriber role was set to auto - but clicking on "subscribe" basically did nothing.  It just took the user to our Home page.  The "unsubscribe" for an existing user didn't work either.

I just bought the module from Ventrian, looks like I'll be using that if I can get it to work.
