Hi, I have a DNN 3.x site running under .Net v1.1. I am wanting to move to .Net v2 and SQL 2005, so I looking to move to DNN v 4.3.5.

My site runs on a shared public server. I lack the expertise to attempt to do the conversion inside my live site. I don't want to risk distruption. I am thinking of setting up a new account with .Net v2 and SQL 2005, re-building my site from scratch , and then re-directing the DNS servers once I am finished.

External sites have links to my existing site with links such as www.MySite.com/Artcles/tabid/56/Default.aspx

Is there anyway that I can build the new site to retain the the same tabids, so that when the DNS servers are updated all the external links continue to work?

What would have been best practice to have avoided this issue when I setup my site in the first place? ie. set up my site so that the urls, which people may link to, didn't include internal table ids which may be changed at some later date.

thanks
Barry Mossman
