I have a 2.x portal, a developer created an independent 4.x version of the portal

the 2.x portal database has sql server data I need to put into the 4.x sql DB

Any suggestions on how to go about doing that?

yes, I'm worried

bump

ANy idea how to trobleshoot the upgrade, just got a bunch of errors in upgrading e.g. can't insert nulls into column, can't find stored proc ....

Any links? I'm sure someone has upgraded from ver 2.x - no?

You should do the upgrade in small steps. Make sure you have dnn 2.1.2 (or first upgrade to dnn 2.1.2 if not) So first start with dnn 3.0.13 (first non beta version of dnn 3), then 3.1.1, 3.2.2, switch over to asp.net 2.0 (dnn 3.2.2 runs on both asp.net 1.1 and 2.0), then upgrade to 4.0.3, then to 4.3.6

Mind you.. if you use custom modules in your dnn 2 site, you most probably will run in to upgrade trouble....

Sometimes its just easier (and faster) to completely rebuild the site
