Hi guys
I have just downloaded DNN and it seems to be running really slow. Now I know that the first time the different pages run that the dll’s need to be created but even going back to pages that I have been to before the system still takes about 5 - 10 seconds to load. The thing that makes this really strange is the fact that I am running the site locally, so if anything it should be running really fast. Just wondering if anyone has any ideas.
Thanks
ant

Hi,

sometimes my DNN insallation slows down when I did a lot of debugging and code changes.
Try to end the "aspnet_wp" process with your task manager. This clears all compiled resources etc. After that my application is running fast again.

Could you please supply more information? Such as:
  • DNN version
  • Web server hardware
  • Web Server O/S and config, ASP.NET worker
  • SQL Server hardware
  • SQL Server version and config
  • Skin being used
  • Page weight (http://www.websiteoptimization.com)

This would make diagnosis much easier...
